Tottenham have been tipped as a possible destination for Matthijs de Ligt with the defender’s Juventus future up in the air.
Tottenham have been in the market for a new defender this summer and appear to be looking towards Italy.
Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni was a top target but that deal just wasn’t possible.
Torino star Bremer is another candidate for Tottenham, though he is a right-footer rather than the naturally left-footed Bastoni.
Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte know the Italian market well and may now seek another favour from Juventus.
Tottenham have been tipped as a possible destination for Matthijs de Ligt
Paratici called up his former club in January to sign both Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski.
Both players made a big impact for Tottenham after their arrivals and you could hardly blame Paratici for looking at other players.
Weston McKennie has been linked but now it’s Matthijs de Ligt being touted for a move to Tottenham.
De Ligt joined Juventus in a big-money move back in 2019 having excelled with Ajax.
Now 22, De Ligt maybe hasn’t quite lived up to his billing but has still been an important first-team player for Juve.
Despite Giorgio Chiellini’s exit, the Dutchman is now being linked with a departure from Juventus this summer.
Chelsea allegedly want De Ligt and have offered Timo Werner in a deal for the defender, who has a £103million release clause in his deal.
Juventus want close to that fee so a move to Chelsea is complicated.

Sky Italia journalist Luca Marchetti has now told Tuttomercatoweb that there are three possible routes to the Premier League for De Ligt.
Marchetti claims that Chelsea and Manchester United are the most likely suitors but Tottenham would be an option too.
Marchetti noted that Tottenham would prefer to sign a left-footed defender but De Ligt may find his way to work with Antonio Conte.
This would be a coup for Tottenham but it’s hard to imagine a deal happening.
The fee involved for De Ligt would be staggering for Tottenham to pay; a new club record even with a part-exchange route pursued.
Paratici has great links to Juventus but this may be a little beyond Tottenham’s transfer guru with De Ligt likely to be out of Tottenham’s price range.
