Martin Keown has criticised Richarlison after suggesting that the Tottenham Hotspur striker needs to show ‘a whole lot more’.
Richarlison was given a chance to start as Tottenham’s centre forward against Sheffield United on Wednesday night.
The former Everton man may be Brazil’s main striker but that honour belongs to Harry Kane at Tottenham.
After featuring as a left winger against Chelsea and West Ham, Richarlison was finally given a chance down the middle against Sheffield United.
Unfortunately for Richarlison, he really wasn’t able to take that opportunity.

Tottenham were embarrassed at Bramall Lane as they lost 1-0 to Sheffield United in their FA Cup clash.
Spurs had a great chance to reach the last eight but came up short thanks to Iliman Ndiaye’s second-half goal.
A number of Tottenham players fell flat but Richarlison was one of the most disappointing.
The Brazilian failed to register a shot on target and was dispossessed three times in a frustrating display.
Richarlison was hooked with 64 minutes on the clock as Tottenham turned to Kane.
Richarlison really squandered his chance at the head of the Tottenham attack and who knows when he will get this chance again?
The summer signing from Everton really didn’t impress pundit Martin Keown, who was speaking on BBC Sport.
Keown (9:15pm) suggested that Richarlison’s display against Championship opposition had really disappointed him.
Keown noted that Richarlison clearly has the ability in his locker, but he needs to show ‘a whole lot more’ in a Tottenham shirt.
“Well you just know he’s got the ability, you just want to see a whole lot more from him,” said Keown.
Richarlison may even lose his place on the left wing now with Son Heung-min and Arnaut Danjuma breathing down his neck.
With no Premier League goal to his name for Tottenham yet, Richarlison is having a tricky time of it – and Wednesday really didn’t help his cause.
