Tottenham Hotspur want Dean Henderson as they consider the Manchester United goalkeeper as a possible heir to Hugo Lloris.

That’s according to Football London, who claim that Henderson is just one of a host of goalkeepers on the Tottenham radar.

A number of options are foreign goalkeepers, including the likes of Robert Sanchez and David Raya.

Yet Tottenham have considered homegrown options too with Jordan Pickford targeted before he agreed a new Everton contract.

Henderson is thought to be on the list too having been linked with Tottenham on more than one occasion in years gone by.

The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest but will be returning to Manchester United this summer.

After six loan spells away from United, the time may be coming for Henderson to finally decide his future.

If the Red Devils don’t see Henderson as a possible successor to David De Gea then Tottenham may well be able to convince him into a move.

Manchester United will be the big hurdle for Tottenham in Dean Henderson chase

Whilst Henderson may fancy a move to Tottenham and believe that he can be the heir to Lloris, United could be an issue.

The Premier League’s ‘big six’ don’t often striker deals with each other out of fear of strengthening a direct rival.

United and Tottenham are separated by seven points but would likely battle for Champions League spots for years to come.

United may not really fancy the idea of giving Tottenham their future number one stopper on a plate.

Tottenham can expect to pay a premium for that reason, and Henderson being English may factor in here too.

Pickford’s decision to stay at Everton means Henderson is the most appealing homegrown goalkeeper on the market.

United will know that and may just bump up their asking price should Tottenham come calling.

Henderson was hailed as ‘exceptional’ by former teammate Sander Berge and he needs to settle down rather than go out on loan so regularly – and Tottenham could give him that home.
