Tottenham Hotspur have made contact to sign Gent striker Gift Orban as they weigh up attacking signings this summer.
Gift Orban is emerging as a key target for Tottenham Hotspur with contact now made to his representatives.
That is according to Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, who claim that Tottenham have made their first move by contacting Orban’s entourage ahead of a potential deal.
Reports from the Daily Mail earlier this week suggested that Tottenham fancied signing Orban but the claims in Belgium go further.
It’s suggested that Orban is now an ‘important name’ on Tottenham’s wish list as they seek to sign a new striker.
Harry Kane could end up staying this summer but Bayern Munich’s interest means they need to have potential replacements in mind.
Orban appears to be one of them even with Gent allegedly demanding a record fee for the Nigerian.
Gent’s transfer record in terms of sales is the €27million (£23million) received from Lille for Jonathan David, so Tottenham face a decent outlay.

Who is Tottenham Hotspur target Gift Orban?
Orban has become one of the sensations of 2023.
The Nigerian striker started out with Bison FC in his native Nigeria before a successful trial spell with Stabaek in 2021.
Orban earned himself a permanent move to Norway in May 2022 and he responded in blistering fashion, smashing 19 goals in 24 games.
Gent quickly snapped Orban up though, luring him to Belgium in January of this year.

Again, Orban has taken it all in his stride by racking up 20 goals in 22 games last season.
A highlight was a ridiculous hat-trick against Istanbul Basaksehir, with Orban scoring three times inside three-and-a-half minutes.
Orban – hailed as an ‘explosive’ striker – already has two goals in two games this season and looks destined for stardom.
It’s no surprise that clubs are already showing a keen interest in Orban and Tottenham will hope to have stolen a march by contacting his representatives.
