Pascal Chimbonda has criticised Tottenham Hotspur’s decision to send Tanguy Ndombele out on loan to Lyon, as quoted on Instagram.

Tottenham announced on January transfer deadline day that Ndombele has joined Lyon on loan until the end of the season.

The French midfielder actually moved Spurs from Lyon in the summer 2019.

Former Tottenham right-back Chimbonda believes that Spurs head coach Antonio Conte has made a bad decision to send Ndombele out on loan for the rest of the season.

Were Tottenham right to send Tanguy Ndombele on loan?

In our view, Tottenham could have been a bit more patient with Ndombele and should have made a decision on the midfielder’s future in the summer of 2022.

Yes, we know that the midfielder was struggling under Conte.

The France international midfielder was not a regular in the first team.

However, in our opinion, Ndombele would have still been a good option in the team for the final weeks and months of the season.

Yes, Tottenham signed two senior players in the January transfer window, but they also let Bryan Gil, Dele Alli, Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso leave.

We think that Tottenham should have retained Ndombele, as they aim to finish in the Premier League top four this season.
