Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen has finally returned from his injury nightmare.

The Dutch international played his first game of 2018 last night as Fenerbahce took on Antalyaspor.

Janssen came off the bench for the final 18 minutes of Fenerbahce’s 4-1 win, in which ex-Spurs striker Roberto Soldado found the scoresheet.

The striker took to social media to express his excitement at making his return.

Janssen last played at the start of December and he had hoped his lay off would be a short one, keeping him out until late January at the most.

He is back now and hopes to end the season on a high note after a pretty unhappy year.

He was publicly snubbed by Spurs after they signed Fernando Llorente and left Janssen out of their Champions League squad, and he was dispatched on loan to Turkey imminently after.

Janssen had a tough start at Fenerbahce, scoring only three goals, while there was misery at international level as Netherland failed to qualify for the World Cup.

Perhaps he can use all of that frustration to fuel a turnaround, Fenerbahce are still in the Turkish Cup and he could yet end the season with a trophy.
