Tottenham Hotspur loanee Georges-Kevin N’Koudou made his first start for Burnley at the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Georges-Kevin N’Koudou has told the Lancashire Telegraph he is thrilled to have finally made his first Premier League start.

Spurs signed N’Koudou in August 2016, but he was consistently overlooked by Mauricio Pochettino and used only as a substitute.

This season was no better and N’Koudou was sent on loan to Burnley, where he has struggled to get into their XI too.

At the weekend he finally started, in a 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion and N’Koudou feels he deserves his shot.

He said: “I want it to stay like this. I was happy, I think I’ve trained well, I never give up, I’ve worked hard for this moment.

“I’ll stay like that and even if I don’t start again I’ve enjoyed that moment.”

N’Koudou lasted 69 minutes before being taken off for Jeff Hendrick, with Burnley 1-0 up at the time.

His performance was a bit hit and miss, with one chance created and two shots on goal which both landed off target.

But he did complete 88 per cent of his passes and did not let himself down, and N’Koudou should fancy his chances of retaining his place to face Watford this coming weekend.
