The Cameroonian needed a goal after some recent down points at Marseille.

This summer Tottenham Hotspur were embroiled in a long-protracted transfer deal to sign Georges-Kevin N’Koudou from Marseille.

Much of the delay stemmed from the idea of loaning Clinton N’Jie to the Stade Velodrome.

Tottenham Hotspur snapped him up last summer from Olympique Lyonnais but he struggled to have any impact for Spurs in his debut season with the club.

With that in mind he was loaned out to Marseille – but he has struggled in the south of France as well.

But today saw him end a recent wretched run of form and fitness by scoring for the club.

He netted the third goal for Marseille in the 3-0 win against Nancy – with fellow former Premier League players Florian Thauvin and Bafetimbi Gomis also finding the back of the net.

He found himself free on the left-hand side of the box before curling a well-placed finish into the net with his right-foot. It was his first goal for the club since September and his first since a recent injury problem.

N’Jie will be hoping this can be the start of a good run at his loan club, so he can perhaps catch the eye at his parent club.
