Tottenham Hotspur have backed away from the Leandro Trossard race as the Brighton and Hove Albion ace closes in on a move to Arsenal.
That’s according to Sky Sports, who claim that Tottenham have now ‘moved onto other attacking options’ having given up on Trossard.
It’s stated that Tottenham haven’t followed up on their initial interest in signing Trossard from last week.
This comes after The Athletic reported that Tottenham actually made a £12million verbal offer for Trossard, which was rejected by Brighton.
Tottenham have been keen to add another attacking option this month, preferably one with real versatility for Antonio Conte.
Trossard would have fit the bill having played in a wide range of roles for Brighton but having been snubbed by Brighton, Tottenham seemingly don’t plan to go back in.

Tottenham target Leandro Trossard set to join Arsenal
Spurs may be a little frustrated to hear that Trossard is joining their bitter rivals Arsenal though.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Trossard has agreed personal terms with Arsenal and ‘negotiations are advanced’ for him to join the Gunners.
Romano even adds that Arsenal are hoping to seal the deal for Trossard today, meaning Tottenham may not stand a chance even if they did still hold an interest.
Arsenal have been chasing a new winger this month but dramatically missed out on Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea last weekend.
Edu and Mikel Arteta had to pivot to other targets and after links to the likes of Raphinha, Ferran Torres and Moussa Diaby, Trossard appears to be their man.
Hailed as ‘phenomenal’ by ex-Tottenham striker and Arsenal fan Darren Bent, Trossard must now make the step up from Brighton to Arsenal.
The 28-year-old has been at odds with Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi of late and a sale just makes sense for everybody at the Amex Stadium.
Tottenham must now move on and look to other targets like Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo – all whilst probably hoping that Trossard doesn’t shine at Arsenal!
