Tottenham Hotspur have shown an interest in Leandro Paredes – but he was named in Paris Saint-Germain’s starting lineup on Sunday night.
It’s pretty clear that Tanguy Ndombele has no future at Tottenham and ultimately needs to leave the club soon.
Left out of the Tottenham squad for their last three games, Ndombele appears to be finished under Antonio Conte.
Whilst Ndombele has immense talent in his locker, there doesn’t appear to be a queue of clubs waiting to rescue him.
Paris Saint-Germain have emerged as an option, which does make some sense. Born in the South of Paris, Ndombele would surely fancy a move there.
Add in that Mauricio Pochettino – the man who brought Ndombele to Tottenham in 2019 – is now PSG boss and the move looks very appealing.
The Times have reported that a swap deal could take place, with Tottenham asking for Paredes in exchange for Ndombele.
Paredes isn’t keen on leaving PSG though, meaning a swap deal with Tottenham is looking a little tricky.
Paredes, 27, is a combative and aggressive defensive midfielder with a decent range of passing, potentially serving as an upgrade on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The Argentinian is seemingly reluctant, and Pochettino hasn’t helped signpost a potential transfer.

On Sunday, PSG beat Reims 4-0 at home, with Paredes not only starting but also playing the full 90 minutes in a convincing win.
Paredes helps do the dirty work in the PSG midfield, freeing up the flair players to do their thing in the final third.
Ndombele is the complete opposite, offering little off the ball but being very technically impressive on it.
Would Pochettino want to make that trade-off? Probably not, and he underlined Paredes’ importance to him with that start on Sunday.
