Spurs go in to the game with Norwich this weekend without the injured Younes Kaboul. The French international suffered a knee injury which has required surgery and will miss the next 4 months. Steven Caulker is earmarked to replace him at the heart of the Tottenham backline.

Recent recruit Moussa Dembele is expected to be involved and could even be handed a start for his new team after completing his move from Fulham earlier in the week. Any other potential incoming players will most likely not be available for Spurs at such short notice as they continue many negotiations on transfer deadline day. Scott Parker and Heurelho Gomes remain unavailable through injury.

Tottenham have been dealt a tough Europa League draw. Despite fancying their chances against Slovenian minnows Maribor the prospect of playing Panathinaikos and Lazio, especially away from home at intimidating stadiums will give Andre Villas Boas cause for concern.

It has been a busy day in terms of transfers at Tottenham Hotspur as they have seen many ins and outs at The Lane. First thing this morning Rafael van der Vaart, ever the professional, turned up early this morning for training before leaving moments later to tie up a deal with former club Hamburg. RVDV is a fans favourite at the club but he has a strong tie with the German side and once a fee was agreed the Dutchman was always likely to return to the Bundesliga, which has now been confirmed by both clubs.

Another player on the way out of Spurs is Mexican Giovani Dos Santos. The former Barcelona starlet has failed to live up to his potential in London has completed a permanent transfer to La Liga side RCD Mallorca, where he will get the opportunity to face off against his former employers. No fee for the transfer has been disclosed by either club.

Whilst Danny Rose has also left the club on a season long loan to Sunderland. After finding himself behind Benoit Assou Ekotto and Jan Vertonghen in the Tottenham side the young GB Olympian is hoping to gain first team experience at the Stadium of Light where he will join former team-mate Louis Saha.

Meanwhile Jermaine Jenas, who looked liked joining the pair on Wearside, looks set for another period on the fringes of the Spurs lineup after a deal brokedown earlier today, with former club Nottingham Forest the only team now being linked with bringing the England international in.

Tottenham’s deal for Joao Moutinho is up in the air, despite agreeing a club record fee of £22million earlier. SkySports said the move had broken down over personal terms and he is yet to be seen in London.

Whilst Hugo Lloris has also flown to London from France today in order to discuss a potential move. Another deal that was previously called dead by AVB they are still in discussions over a fee with his club Lyon but the keeper has now made his mind up and wants the move to happen. It is expected to be confirmed this evening.

Meanwhile Skysports understands that Spurs will rival Liverpool for Fulham’s American forward Clint Dempsey. The talisman has already turned down Aston Villa today but a move to Champions League chasers Spurs or Liverpool would prove tougher to turn down.
