Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti has hailed Kim Min-jae amid claims Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur want to sign him.

Napoli are closing in on the Serie A title after beating Torino 4-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Spalletti’s men sit a staggering 19 points clear of the Serie A table and there are only 11 Serie A games left.

Napoli are so nearly there and a number of players have been vital to this stunning title charge.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen spring to mind, but defender Kim Min-jae has been sensational.

Long tipped for a move to Tottenham, Kim has gone from Beijing Guoan to Fenerbahce and now the cusp of the Serie A title in rapid time.

Now considered one of the top defenders in Europe, Kim is earning huge praise.

Boss Spalletti has now been quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying that he thinks Kim is ‘incredible’ and has seen few players with his kind of ability.

“I’ve seen few players in my life and career with the skills and qualities of Kim Min-jae,” said Spalletti. “He’s incredible, always aggressive — he deserves to start every game. Look at Di Lorenzo too — he’s a top, top player. We’re not only Kvara & Osimhen,” he added.

Tottenham have surely missed the window on Kim Min-jae

Tottenham were linked with Kim so many times it was bordering on ridiculous, but they now appear to have made a big mistake.

Tottenham were keen on signing Kim during his time in China and 90Min even claimed that Son Heung-min recommended Kim to Spurs in 2021 in the hope of sparking a deal.

Kim headed to Fenerbahce instead, but Fanatik claimed in April of last year that Tottenham were scouting Kim with Fenerbahce.

The rumours haven’t gone away; Napoli-based website Gonfia La Rete claimed in November that Tottenham are willing to pay Kim’s £43million release clause to finally sign him.

CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs claimed over the weekend that Tottenham still want Kim, but so do Liverpool and Manchester United.

The price tag for Kim is huge now and with other clubs interest, it’s hard to see Tottenham being able to sign the South Korean star – especially with Spalletti hyping him up.
