Tottenham transfer news: Celtic target Justin Ferizaj spent the last week on trial at Spurs as six-figure deal eyed

Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing Justin Ferizaj and took the Shamrock Rovers ace on trial for the past week ahead of a possible deal.

That’s according to the Irish Examiner, who claim that Spurs have been taking a close look at Ferizaj in recent days.

It’s stated that other Premier League clubs are also keen whilst Italian club Sampdoria are claimed to have offered a three-year deal.

Yet Tottenham may now looking to secure Ferizaj having brought him over to North London for training.

Ferizaj has now turned 18 and would be able to make the move over to England as per Brexit regulations.

The midfielder is understood to have played in a training ground game on Friday and Tottenham will now weigh up whether to firm up their interest.

Shamrock Rovers are understood to be commanding a ‘hefty’ six-figure sum is Ferizaj is to move on any time soon.

Who is Tottenham target Justin Ferizaj?

Ferizaj has been coming up through the Shamrock Rovers ranks in recent years.

Despite only turning 18 earlier this month, Ferizaj has already made 16 first-team appearances for Shamrock Rovers, bagging two assists.

Ferizaj even played more than 200 minutes in the Europa Conference League this season, having previously featured in Europa League and Champions League qualifiers.

A midfielder who has played deep and in attacking roles, Ferizaj has four caps for Ireland’s Under-19’s.

Ferizaj does though qualify to play for Albania through his parents and could switch his international allegiance down the line.

The teenager has attracted major interest of late with The Irish Examiner reporting over the summer that Celtic and Rangers were eyeing him.

Tottenham now appear to have had a close look at Ferizaj with a view to bringing him to North London in the near future.
