Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for River Plate’s Julian Alvarez, and his agent is seemingly interested in a move to the Premier League.
Calciomercato report that Tottenham are in the race to sign Alvarez.
Aston Villa have long been keen, whilst Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla are also interested.
Alvarez has a €25million (£21million) release clause in his contract, and he is expected to leave River in 2022.
Alvarez in stunning form for River
The 21-year-old, who can play up front or out wide, has been in scintillating form for River of late.
After hitting a brace against Boca Juniors earlier this month, Alvarez smashed a hat-trick against San Lorenzo this week.
That’s 10 goals and four assists in Alvarez’s last 12 league outings for River.
Alvarez has become Argentinian football’s next golden boy, and a big move is on the horizon.

Agent talks up move for Tottenham target Alvarez
Agent Fernando Hidalgo has now spoken to FC Inter News about Alvarez, calling for a ‘serious club’ to make a bid.
Now, some would have differing opinions on whether Tottenham are a ‘serious club’ given their lack of trophies.
Hidaldo suggested that Alvarez would be great alongside past Serie A winners Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Lautaro Martinez at AC Milan and Inter Milan respectively.
Tottenham don’t have a single Premier League winner in their side, meaning they may not fit the bill of Hidalgo wanting Alvarez to play with ‘champions’ in England.
“I don’t advertise for Inter, he would be fine with Ibrahimovic, with Lautaro or with some champions in England. The important thing is that a serious club arrives,” he added.
