Tottenham Hotspur want goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and have been alerted to his new contract at Everton still not being confirmed.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Pickford agreed a new deal in principle in November.
Pickford is happy to commit to Everton and roughly agreed to a five-year contract with the Toffees.
Yet Everton still haven’t actually signed off on that deal and their Premier League rivals are now paying close attention.
It’s suggested that Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have all been alerted to this strange delay in Pickford’s new contract.
All three clubs are now believing that they could tempt Everton into selling given that Pickford is out of contract in 2024.
The report adds that the hold-up comes at board level and sources are surprised that Everton haven’t signed off on a deal for such a key player.

Pickford makes sense for Tottenham
England stopper Pickford has proven himself for club and country in recent years, with the doubts over him seemingly fading away.
Some felt that Pickford was good for a clanger or two but the 28-year-old seems to have matured in recent years.
A quality shot-stopper as well as being very handy on the ball, Pickford fits the mould of a modern goalkeeper.
You can see why Tottenham are interested.
Hugo Lloris turned 36 on Monday and Tottenham need to think about finding his eventual successor.
Pickford would fit the bill in terms of being a homegrown goalkeeper and he would allow Tottenham to build out from the back a little better than Lloris.
It’s a similar story with United and Chelsea though, who want goalkeepers to replace the likes of David De Gea and Edouard Mendy – two stoppers hardly known for being great with the ball on the deck.
Tottenham will therefore face a battle for Pickford but if that Everton contract doesn’t get signed soon, expect Spurs to make their move.
