- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber could be joining his twin brother Jurrien in England this summer, HITC understands.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed an excellent campaign with Feyenoord, backing up his first season with them last term which saw them claim the Dutch title.
Timber has helped himself to six goals and six assists in Arne Slot’s side and has been a key performer – but his performances now have a host of English clubs looking at him.
Arsenal have been watching him since last season, after he caught the eye of their Dutch scouts whilst they were checking on twin brother Jurrien Timber, who joined from Ajax last summer.
HITC now understands that Arsenal’s North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are amongst the sides paying close attention to his progress.
Newcastle United are also believed to have been impressed with Timber this season.
The Magpies have been watching Feyenoord closely this term to keep track of their loan star Yankuba Minteh.
It is also understood that Newcastle’s scouts have issued glowing reports not just on Timber but also teammates Lutsharel Geertruida and Santiago Gimenez.
Who is Quinten Timber?
Timber spent his early days in the Feyenoord youth ranks alongside brother Jurrien, but both left the club in 2014.
Aged just 13, the Timber twins headed to Ajax and ended up on slightly different paths.
Whilst Jurrien became a key player at the Amsterdam Arena, Quinten had to leave after playing in the Jong Ajax side.
The midfielder moved to hometown club Utrecht and enjoyed one season there before Feyenoord pounced to bring him back to Rotterdam.

Timber had a relatively quiet campaign last season, recording two goals and three assists in 24 league appearances.
The exit of Orkun Kokcu has helped Timber take on a bigger role this season though, racking up six goals and six assists in 23 games.
Timber is now a wanted man and has been hailed as ‘very talented’ by former teammate Mohamed Taabouni.
Reuniting with his brother at Arsenal may well appeal to Timber, but he could yet end up joining their North London rivals Tottenham instead having developed enormously this season.
