Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris endured something of a nightmare against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.
What a dismal few days for Tottenham.
The 3-2 midweek defeat to Southampton was disastrous. Leading 2-1, Tottenham crumbled and threw it all away.
Antonio Conte’s men needed to come up with a response against Wolves, but were arguably even worse.
Two first-half goals were enough for Wolves to claim the win, with Tottenham’s dismal defending gifting the visitors the win.
Hugo Lloris was culpable on the first. The Frenchman saved a long-range Ruben Neves strike, but made the curious decision to palm Leander Dendoncker’s relatively innocuous shot into the air.
The ball fell straight to Raul Jimenez, and he smashed beyond Lloris.
Lloris didn’t cover himself in glory with the second either. His slack pass put Ben Davies into a tricky position, firing his clearance straight to Dendoncker.
Daniel Podence’s shot hit Davinson Sanchez, ricocheted off Rodrigo Bentancur, hit the post and fell straight to Dendoncker for 2-0.
With Lloris scrambling, Tottenham looked like Keystone Cops at the back. Wolves probably thought it was their lucky day.
The Frenchman has only recently signed a new two-year deal to stay with Tottenham, but he has to turn in better performances than this.
With Tottenham shaky after the defeat to Southampton, they needed their captain and most experienced player to offer some stability.

That didn’t happen, with Lloris suffering a torrid performance in another difficult evening for Tottenham.
Former England defender Matthew Upson has commented on Lloris, slamming him for flapping for Jimenez’s goal.
Upson admitted that he has no idea what on earth Lloris was trying to do by simply pushing the ball out into the danger zone.
“It’s parried by Lloris, but that there… I have no clue what he’s thinking there, he’s just flapped at the ball trying to punch it away,” said Upson.
Every goalkeeper is allowed a bad game here and there, but Tottenham really can’t afford to see many more performances like this from Lloris.
