Tottenham Hotspur are accelerating their move for Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo by holding further talks with his representatives.
Tottenham Hotspur will surely sign at least one new centre back in January having suffered issues there this season.
Cristian Romero is seemingly always on the verge of a red card whilst the injury to Micky van de Ven has left Tottenham a little short at the back.
Tottenham need another signing and they could strike an exciting January deal with a move for Nice star Jean-Clair Todibo…
Tottenham accelerate move for Jean-Clair Todibo
Reports from the London Evening Standard in November suggested that Tottenham had joined the race to sign Todibo.
The Daily Mail now add to those claims, suggesting that Tottenham are ramping up their move for the Frenchman.
It’s suggested that Todibo’s representatives have now held further talks with Tottenham over a potential January move.
Todibo’s entourage wanted to find out just how much Tottenham want Todibo and will be trying to establish his first-team prospects.
Tottenham already have a strong pairing in Romero and Van de Ven when available, meaning Todibo may arrive as third choice.
There is interest from elsewhere but Tottenham are making their interest clear by engaging in talks with his representatives over a £35million move.

Todibo bouncing back from Barcelona nightmare
Some will remember Todibo as being a top talent after emerging with Toulouse.
The 6ft 3in centre back earned himself a big move to Barcelona in 2019 and was being backed for a huge future.
Todibo only made five appearances for Barcelona and was loaned out to Schalke, Benfica and Nice before joining the latter permanently in 2021.
Todibo had to rediscover his form after his Barcelona nightmare and he has certainly done that with Nice.
Now one of the top defenders in Ligue 1 and with two French caps to his name this year, Todibo is shining.
Hailed as a ‘leader’ by teammate Dante, Todibo would be the kind of signing to really build quality depth at Tottenham and his pace would be a great fit in Ange Postecoglou’s back line.
