Christian Eriksen is putting together another stunning season.
Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen shoots
Christian Eriksen has not had the limelight of Dele Alli or Harry Kane but he has delivered another season to be proud of.
The Dane is arguably the most under appreciated player in the Premier League, a driving force behind Tottenham’s surge to second in the table.
Like his teammates he looks set to finish without a trophy once again although from an individual standpoint he is going at a great pace.
He has provided 12 assists this season, a tally bettered only by Manchester City attacker Kevin de Bruyne.
For context on just how good Eriksen’s tally is – it is more than Real Madrid mega stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale have provided in La Liga combined – just eight.
Wales’ Gareth Bale and Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo
The duo have managed just eight assists, while in Barcelona colours, the incredible Lionel Messi is from an assist perspective on par with Eriksen on 12.
Eriksen provided 13 league assists last season, his best in a Tottenham shirt, and there is still time for his to surpass his tally.

This campaign he has managed to bag eight goals, more than last season’s six but still below his 2014/15 tally of 10. Yet that season he delivered only two assists.
The balance seems just right this time around and Eriksen still has the potential to get even better. He might just start to get recognised as a superstar in his own right one day, although might need a trophy to finally start being appreciated.
