Harry Kane’s outstanding form has seen the striker net 11 goals this month for club and country.
The prolific Tottenham Hotspur forward has scored five Champions League goals in two matches, and is being compared to the world’s best forwards.
Media hype has Kane being touted in the same category as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi – an over exaggeration, but a sure sign of how far he has come.
Kane has scored 34 goals this calendar year already, and is attempting to win the golden boot for the third year in a row.
With England approaching a World Cup year, the timing is perfect.
But that’s why Kane should be extra cautious not to get carried away.
England’s international tournaments always end in disaster, and the star player always gets the blame. Just ask Wayne Rooney.
Kane even has experience of this after flopping at Euro 2016.
This time around he is better, stronger and more experienced, but it really does appear as though he is being set up for failure.
The hype is incredible already, if he keeps his form up, by next June it could be too much for the Tottenham star to live up to.
