Tottenham Hotspur released Belgian talent Joy Mukena last month, official documents on the FA website have revealed.
The central defender, who was born in London, had not made a significant impact in the club’s youth team during his stay at Spurs and the 17-year-old has now moved on.
The documents also revealed that he had signed a scholarship deal at Premier League rivals Watford, where he will be hoping to make more of an impact in the years to come.
Mukena also spent time on trial at Brighton and Hove Albion in November, playing in two under-18 games, but then returned to Spurs.
He has now made his debut for Watford’s youth teams, and recently featured in a game against Bristol City for the club’s under-23 side.

Tottenham have a great recent record of bringing in top talent to the first-team, but it is a tough environment at Hotspur Way for a talented player to shine.
Mukena will be hoping he finds more of a pathway to the first-team now he has made the switch to Vicarage Road.
Tottenham will just hope they do not end up rue his departure.
