Tottenham Hotspur may have reason to be disappointed that Wolverhampton Wanderers didn’t sign Oleksandr Zinchenko in the summer now.

Wolves pushed hard to sign Zinchenko, as reported by the Express and Star, but they could not get an £18 million deal over the line for the Manchester City youngster.

Zinchenko could now leave City in January, but his departure could impact on Tottenham.

The Telegraph claim that the Ukrainian could be used as a makeweight by City in a deal for Tanguy Ndombele.

Spurs are long-term admirers of Ndombele, with Mauricio Pochettino a big fan of the Lyon midfielder.

Ndombele is believed to be one of Tottenham’s top targets, but City may just have an advantage in having Zinchenko to offer Lyon.

And if Zinchenko does prove a difference maker in the deal, then Spurs are likely to be disappointed that Wolves didn’t complete the signing they wanted a few months ago.
