Juventus have been touted with an interest in Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen.

According to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are considering a summer move for Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen.

The report claims that the 25-year-old is on Juve’s wish list for a new No.10, which also includes Mesut Ozil of Tottenham’s London rivals Arsenal.

If that is the case, Spurs should have little reason to fear the Serie A champions’ interest in Eriksen as Ozil would be a much cheaper alternative to the Dane.

The World Cup winner is out of contract at the end of the season so would be available on a free in the summer, whereas Eriksen would command a big fee.

Corriere dello Sport understands that Juve are hopeful that £62m would land the former Ajax playmaker, but that wouldn’t be enough to convince Spurs to sell in a market where Philippe Coutinho has just gone for £142m – fee reported by BBC Sport.

Eriksen may not be as glamorous as the Brazilian but his numbers stack up favourably, with 37 goals and 48 assists in the Premier League since the start of the 2013-14 season, compared to 38 goals and 29 assists for Coutinho.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has told Sky Sports that none of their star players will be sold, and it would likely take an offer in excess of £100m to change his stance on Eriksen.

Juventus are not traditionally a club to spend those sort of figures, only breaking the £50m barrier once to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli in 2016, according to The Guardian.
