Bayern Munich’s hopes of signing Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane are fading amid a strong belief that he will end up staying in England.
That’s according to Bild reporter Christian Falk, who has been speaking to Caught Offside about Kane’s future.
Bayern have been heavily linked with Kane having failed to really replace Robert Lewandowski last summer.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has been leading the line for Bayern this season and they may well need an upgrade.
Kane may well be their top target but their hopes of a summer deal currently appear to be slim at best.
Falk claims that Bayern officials are ‘increasingly doubtful’ over a possible deal for Kane because the feeling is that he wants to stay in the Premier League.
Falk adds that Bayern haven’t even contacted Kane’s representatives for months now.
Kane has yet to ‘send a signal’ to Bayern that he wants the move and the Bundesliga club seemingly don’t think a deal will happen.
“Bayern bosses are increasingly doubtful of the prospect of Kane wanting to leave England; they feel he wants to remain in the Premier League,” said Falk. “FC Bayern fears his love of home more than any offer from Manchester United – that’s why the club hasn’t contacted the Tottenham star’s management for months.
“Bayern had lodged its interest with the relevant agents in 2022 and now they’re waiting to see if Kane sends a signal back. So far that hasn’t happened. The longer this situation drags on, we can see officials at Bayern slowly losing their faith in the striker departing the U.K at the end of the season,” he added.

This doesn’t necessarily mean Harry Kane is staying at Tottenham Hotspur
That may sound like pretty good stuff for Tottenham.
They want to secure a new deal for Kane and if he isn’t going to Bayern, the chances of him staying may seem pretty strong.
However, Manchester United and maybe even Chelsea may be tempted to throw money at Tottenham to try and tempt them into selling Kane.
Kane will want to chase down Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record and snubbing Bayern may only open the door for a move elsewhere.
Tottenham must show Kane that they will move forward in what is likely to be a post-Antonio Conte world.
Bringing back Mauricio Pochettino may well do that but Falk’s claims may yet indicate that Kane fancies heading to a Premier League rival this summer.
