Tottenham have high hopes for Han Willhoft-King and his potential has been identified in The Guardian’s ‘Next Generation’ piece today.

Spurs would no doubt love to have more young talent emerging through their ranks.

Harry Kane has been an incredible story and there will be hopes for Dane Scarlett to follow in his footsteps.

Others like Kyle Walker-Peters and Marcus Edwards have had to move on for first-team action, but there appears to be real excitement over Willhoft-King.

Tottenham have high hopes for Han Willhoft-King

The Guardian publish a ‘Next Generation’ list every year, picking out one player from each of the 20 Premier League clubs.

Previous players listed from Tottenham include Jamie Donley, Alfie Devine, Dermi Lusala and Harvey White.

This year it’s Willhoft-King who gets the nod for Tottenham, with The Guardian giving him an excitement review.

They note that midfielder Willhoft-King is ‘smooth on the ball’ and has an impressive range of passing from in front of the back four.

Willhoft-King, 16, has already turned out 12 times for Tottenham Under-18’s, playing mostly as a central midfielder.

The teenager was even playing FA Youth Cup action as a schoolboy, summing up just how highly Tottenham rate their young talent.

Willhoft-King has even featured for the England Under-16’s and he is now being backed for a huge future for Tottenham.

Seeing Willhoft-King emerge would continue the pathway for midfielders into senior action with Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp emerging over recent years.

Yet with Alfie Devine also in the mix, breaking into Tottenham’s midfield ranks in the coming years won’t be easy for Willhoft-King.

Today’s mention is a great accolade for Willhoft-King but the really hard work is still to come – especially if he wants to emulate Kane and become a Tottenham hero.
