Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sort out the futures of both Dele Alli and Toby Alderweireld in the coming weeks.

Spurs are yet to bring in a new player this month, which has caused some frustration, but keeping their current squad is arguably more important than any additions they could make.
Alli still has a long way to go on his current deal, but interest is rising in the attacking midfielder.

Alli’s wage currently does not represent his standing in the world game, and Spurs are eager to tie the England international down.
Alderweireld, meanwhile, has just 18 months remaining on his current deal at Spurs.
Tottenham do have the option to extend his deal, but that will activate a £25 million release clause, which would surely be activated by another team.

However, if Tottenham were able to tie down Alderweireld to a new long-term deal, that would be a major boost to Pochettino’s side’s future plans.
And if Alli and Alderweireld both pen new deals, then January should be considered a success, regardless of what else happens in the transfer window.
