AZ Alkmaar are close to replacing Tottenham bound Vincent Janssen.
Netherland’s Vincent Janssen celebrates
Tottenham Hotspur have received a boost in their pursuit of Vincent Janssen, with his current club AZ Alkmaar closing in on signing a replacement.
Dutch magazine Voetball International report AZ have agreed a fee with Heracles to sign striker Wout Weghorst, who scored 12 goals last season.
Tottenham have been pursuing striker Vincent Janssen over the last month, but have so far been unable to agree a fee with the Dutch side.
Newspaper Allgeman Dagblad reported yesterday that Spurs were closing in on a deal, and were willing to meet AZ’s asking price of around £17 million.
Voetball International report that Weghorst’s deal makes Janssen’s exit to Tottenham more likely, but that the Premier League side have not yet upped their previous offer.

With pre-season having already begun for both clubs, there is an incentive for Tottenham to get a deal over the line.
Seemingly everything is in place for it to go through without complication, once they meet AZ’s asking price.
