Tottenham Hotspur want Franck Kessie but the midfielder is allegedly convinced that he can become a success at Barcelona.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who claim that Tottenham are ‘above all’ in the push to sign Kessie.
It’s stated that few Italian clubs can really cover Kessie’s wages so a move to England looks more likely if the midfielder is to leave.
However, Kessie already has his mind made up – he wants to stay at Barcelona and believes that he can convince Xavi of his qualities at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona are tempted to offload Kessie in January but for now, the midfielder is showing no indication of wanting to leave.
That means Tottenham face disappointment in their pursuit of Kessie – at least until the end of the season anyway.

Kessie may be better off at Tottenham
Barcelona appeared to secure an absolute bargain when they signed Kessie.
The Ivorian was superb as AC Milan won the Serie A title last season and Tottenham were interested in him back then.
Barcelona won the battle but Kessie’s time in Catalunya hasn’t been very successful so far.
Kessie has only started two league games for Barcelona and his total minutes in La Liga stands at just 214.
Xavi has so far preferred to go with Gavi, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets in his midfield, leaving Kessie on the sidelines.
If Tottenham are willing to offer him a Premier League move, Kessie should certainly consider making the switch to England.
Antonio Conte wants quality additions and Kessie would fit the bill as a driving force in midfield.
Kessie isn’t exactly the creative player Tottenham need but he has seen how Rodrigo Bentancur has excelled and got his career back on track by joining Spurs.
Kessie could do the same and whilst he is adamant about wanting to succeed at Barcelona, the move to Tottenham should appeal in the back of his mind.
