Tottenham Hotspur are in very advanced talks to sign AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie after the appointment of Antonio Conte.
That’s according to Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport, who claim that Tottenham are really pushing for Kessie’s signature.
The report claims that new Tottenham boss Conte already has some targets on his wish list ahead of the January transfer window.
Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic is one of them, but midfielder Kessie appears to be more advanced.
The Ivorian ace is out of contract at the end of the season and able to sign a pre-contract agreement in January.
Tottenham appear to be negotiating with Kessie’s agents to thrash out a 2022 move. That could be to tee up a cut-price January move, or to commit to a pre-contract deal.
Kessie would be an instant coup for Tottenham
Kessie, 24, has been one of the best Serie A midfielder for many years and could bring what Tottenham need.

A powerful and dynamic box-to-box player, Kessie has been branded ‘devastating’ by former Roma and Milan attacker Antonio Cassano.
Unsurprisingly, Kessie is a wanted man.
El Nacional claim that Liverpool are preparing a big offer to sign Kessie for free whilst Tuttosport believe Newcastle are keen.
Tottenham now seemingly think they can get a big deal for Kessie over the line, supplying Conte with a boost to his midfield.
