Tottenham Hotspur want Florentino Luis but the midfielder claims he is happy with Benfica amid rumours over his future.
Benfica coasted into the last eight of the Champions League on Tuesday night as they smashed Club Brugge 5-1 in Lisbon.
Roger Schmidt’s side were already 2-0 up from the first leg so a 7-1 aggregate win is an absolute thumping.
Key to the win was midfielder Florentino, who is emerging as a real star this season.
90Min claim that Liverpool and Tottenham both scouted Florentino during Benfica’s 2-0 win over Famalicao on Friday.
It would be easy to lose focus in light of such rumours but Florentino has made it clear that his focus is on Benfica.
Speaking to A Bola, Florentino noted that he grateful to be playing for Benfica as it’s a pleasure to be in their famous red shirt.
Florentino noted that loans have helped him over the years but becoming a key player at Benfica is huge to him, making it clear that he is happy with the Portuguese giants.
“I feel good. I’m grateful to God for being here in this place,” said Florentino. “It’s a pleasure to play for Benfica. It’s the club that formed me and gave me the best conditions to be here. Loans were important for my growth and thank God I’m a key player, like everyone else,” he added.
