Moussa Sissoko’s spell at Tottenham has not been a success and this could bear out if he misses out on France’s World Cup squad.

The midfielder could well be searching for a new club this summer, and newly promoted Wolves should consider making Tottenham an offer.

While Sissoko is derided by Spurs fans as not being up to the task of holding down a regular place in their side, he would be a smart signing for Wolves.

Wolves will be looking to strengthen this summer and have the funds to make a splash.

While Sissoko is not the marauding goalscorer who will get fans on the edge of their seats, he is experienced in the Premier League and would be just the sort of upgrade Wolves need to make.

Sissoko will have a point to prove and would be better without the expectation he has had to deal with at Tottenham.

Spurs would have to back down and take a loss on the £30 million they paid two seasons ago, but Wolves would not have any issues paying a big fee, or paying his wages.

Sissoko is a France international with Champions League experience, and his performances at Euro 2016 are still memorable.

He has more than 170 Premier League games under his belt, and the 28-year-old would be a solid upgrade for Wolves if they are looking to strengthen and retain their status next season as a top flight club.
