Tottenham Hotspur fans wouldn’t mind seeing Javier Hernandez in North London following a tough start to life at West Ham United.
Tottenham Hotspur fans have called on Mauricio Pochettino to make a move for out-of-favour West Ham United hitman Javier Hernandez.
Sky Sports reported today that West Ham would listen to offers for the 29-year-old, who has managed four goals in 21 appearances across all competitions.
The Telegraph reported in the summer that the Mexico international cost the Irons some £16 million, meaning that he is working out at around £4 million per goal so far.
According to Bild, Tottenham were among the sides who had a “great interest” in signing the then-Bayer Leverkusen star, but Spurs wound up getting Fernando Llorente.
But with the Spaniard – who has only managed two goals in 20 games for the Lilywhites – hardly proving himself a brilliant back-up for Harry Kane, fans of the North London outfit have called on their side to make a move for the Hammers man.
Hernandez is probably a better fit than Llorente overall, but the former Manchester United and Real Madrid ace also has experience of scoring big Champions League goals and that might interest Pochettino, whose side face Juventus in a last-16 clash next month.
But the Spanish forward has shown promising signs of improvement in recent weeks and you couldn’t fault the Tottenham boss for not bolstering his striking options this month.
