Victor Wanyama made his comeback for Tottenham Hotspur as they beat Swansea City 2-0 away from home.

Wanyama was a second half substitute in the victory, coming on for Davinson Sanchez, who had been fortunate not to get sent off.

The substitution saw Eric Dier slot into central defence and Wanyama took up his usual defensive midfield position, shielding the back three.

He made a vital contribution, intercepting a loose ball inside his own six yard box to deny Jordan Ayew a clear shot at goal.

The game was just 1-0 at that stage, and Wanyama’s big moment changed the course of the match.

The Kenyan has been out of action with a knee injury since August, and at times has been sorely missed by Tottenham.

In just half an our last night he managed to show just how crucial he can be to the team, and had some fans even calling for him to be named man-of-the-match.

Wanyama completed 90 per cent of his passes during his time on the pitch and made two important clearances.
