Tottenham Hotspur fell to defeat this afternoon as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Leicester City.

Spurs lost 2-1 at Liverpool on Wednesday night, and needed to try and hit back as they hosted the Foxes earlier today.

However, Jose Mourinho’s men turned in a flat performance, and were behind at the break as Jamie Vardy scored from the penalty spot.

James Maddison had a goal chalked off by VAR, but the second goal did arrive when Vardy’s header bounced off Toby Alderweireld and into the net.

Spurs couldn’t get back into the game and fell to a second straight defeat, with just one point taken in the last three games.

Mourinho may have to consider changes moving forward, and Serge Aurier may be at risk having given away the first-half penalty against Leicester.

The Ivorian is known as being something of a rash defender, and that was on show again in what was a tricky afternoon for the former Paris Saint-Germain ace.

Spurs fans have now been taking to Twitter to urge Mourinho to start Matt Doherty instead, believing he is so much better than Aurier.

The Irishman was signed from Wolverhampton Wanderers over the summer, and now thinks it’s time for him to be given a run in the team following Aurier’s mistake today.
