Tottenham are trying to find a replacement for Toby Alderweireld, who The Evening Standard report could be sold to Manchester United.
Hegazi played in all 38 of West Brom’s Premier League games last season, but it was a campaign which ended badly, with the Baggies suffering relegation after a terrible mid-season run of form under Alan Pardew.
The 27-year-old was in his first season in England and adapted smoothly, winning plaudits for his performances.
Nonetheless, he is not a player Tottenham fans are excited about signing.
Supporters feel he is too big a downgrade on Alderweireld, and assuming they receive a big fee for the Belgian, the club should be targeting a more expensive and better quality replacement.
