Friday night’s Premier League 2 fixture between the North London rivals saw Spurs fall to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Gunners.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Under-23s endured a difficult night on Friday as their Premier League 2 game against their Arsenal counterparts ended in a 4-0 defeat.
Wayne Burnett’s charges enjoyed a quick early break at the Lamex Stadium but were undone in the fourth minute after Xavier Amaechi worked the ball to Joe Willock, who poked home from close range.
Spurs began seeing more of the ball afterwards but were caught out once again George Marsh’s handball in their box prompted the referee to award the Gunners a penalty, which Charlie Gilmour converted.
Willock claimed a second and the third for his side with a curling effort inside the Spurs box and, come the half time whistle, it had been a tough 45 minutes for the Lilywhites, which would only get worse early after the restart.
Eddie Nketiah seized on a underhit Jack Roles pass to slot home from a tight angle just a minute into the second half, and although Tottenham did step up a gear after that, they were unable to add a consolation come the final whistle.
