Tottenham Hotspur stay

Alderweireld is one of the best central defenders in the world and remains a key figure in the current Tottenham team.

The 30-year-old is on the radar of Manchester United and Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun, with the Belgian available for £25 million due to a clause in his contract.

It would be best for Spurs if Alderweireld – who is valued at between €30 million (£26.72m) and €40m (£35.63m) by the CIES Football Observatory – stays at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium beyond the summer.

According to WhoScored, the former Ajax star made 33 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Tottenham and played in 12 Champions League matches for the North London outfit this season.

Tottenham will be aiming to challenge for the Premier League title again next season and will also be looking to making an impact in the Champions League.
