Tottenham Hotspur have one of the top defenders in the Premier League in Toby Alderweireld.
The Belgian would walk into pretty much any starting XI in world football.
He is a player Tottenham are rightly proud of, compiling a video of his passing ability to share with supporters yesterday.
Spurs fans greatly appreciate Alderweireld’s talent, with the defender a fan favourite since joining in 2015.
The problem was that Tottenham’s message was not particularly well received, as fans are worried about losing the centre-back in the summer.
Alderweireld will be available in the summer for just £25 million due to a clause in his contract, The Guardian report.
This leaves the club vulnerable to seeing the defender sign for a Premier League rival for far below his market value.
Tottenham need to try and tie Alderweireld to a long-term deal – his current contract expires next summer – to rid themselves of the clause.
