Tottenham Hotspur are through to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup after beating Chelsea on penalties on Wednesday night.
Spurs went into the game without Son Heung-min following his injury, meaning Jose Mourinho had to start without a recognised striker.
With Tottenham’s absurd schedule at the moment, Mourinho rotated his side as best he could, but fell behind to a Timo Werner strike.
Erik Lamela hauled Spurs level in the second half, firing home from Sergio Reguilon’s cross to send the game to penalties – and that’s where Spurs prevailed.
Eric Dier, Lamela, Pierre-Emile Hojbejrg, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane all scored for Spurs, and when Hugo Lloris saved Mason Mount’s spot kick, the game was over.
Given Tottenham’s scheduling chaos, pulling out a win was a huge moment for Jose Mourinho – and a big night for the aforementioned Reguilon.

The left back made a big error for Werner’s goal, overcommitting to a sliding challenge on Cesar Azpilicueta, but he made up for it by assisting Lamela’s leveller.
Fans hailed the Spaniard, praising him for his resilience as he grew in confidence from his mistake to turn in a superb display.
Some branded him ‘brilliant’, ‘class’ and ‘quality’, believing that he is already a major upgrade on Ben Davies at left back.
