Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld is said to be wanted by Roma, with Mauricio Pochettino wanting Nicolo Zaniolo.

Tottenham Hotspur fans do not appear keen on the idea of giving up Toby Alderweireld for Nicolo Zaniolo.

The Guardian suggested that Tottenham want to sign Zaniolo from Roma, with the Italian side interested in the Spurs centre-back.

There has now been suggestions that Tottenham may be willing to offer a trade deal in a bid to sign the Italian midfielder.

But Tottenham fans are against the idea of parting company with Alderweireld.

Spurs are in a bit of a dilemma with Alderweireld due to his contractual situation.

The Belgian defender has just a year left on his deal with Spurs and has a £25 million release clause built into his contract.

Alderweireld has hinted that he wants to stay with Tottenham, but that means they could risk losing him on a free.

If Zaniolo does join Spurs he would help to strengthen a midfield which is already looking much better, with Tanguy Ndombele set to arrive very soon, as the Guardian have reported.
