Tottenham Hotspur are linked with the 29-year-old South American.

According to The Daily Mail’s Transfer Blog (entry posted at 14:48), Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Nicolas Gaitan.
The 29-year-old endured an indifferent first season at Atleti following a £21 million move from Benfica last summer, starting only 11 Primera Division games under Diego Simeone.

As a result, he has been linked with a deadline-day move away from the Spanish capital and, according to The Mail, Tottenham are among the teams who have been offered the chance to sign the Argentina international.
And fans of the North London club would love to see it materialise.

Spurs are also linked with Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes and with Mauricio Pochettino boasting some brilliant midfield options as it is, there is unlikely to be room for both.
However, Gaitan, who has 16 caps for Argentina, can also operate on the wing and, if Moussa Sissoko leaves, that would leave one man who Pochettino must replace.
The North Londoners have already signed Serge Aurier today and, according to BBC Sport, Fernando Llorente will also join from Swansea City.
Gaitan is worth around £18 million, according to Transfermarkt.
