Tottenham Hotspur have see Dane Scarlett make history twice this season, which goes a long way to summing up why he is so highly rated.

Back in November, Scarlett became Tottenham’s youngest-ever player as he came on as a substitute against Ludogorets in the Europa League.

Alfie Devine ended up breaking that record just two months later, but Scarlett has now become Tottenham’s youngest-ever Premier League player.

Jose Mourinho brought the 16-year-old on against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday, with the excitement building over his potential.

Scarlett has emerged as a real talent this season, smashing 13 goals in 11 Under-18 Premier League games this season, as well as four assists.

Scarlett also hit five goals in one FA Youth Cup game against Newport County, and has scored twice in three Premier League 2 games; simply put, he can’t stop finding the net.

Football.London reported earlier this week that some people at Tottenham believe Scarlett has a higher ceiling than any other striker at the club; higher than Carlos Vinicius, higher than Troy Parrott and higher than Kion Etete.

However, some Spurs fans don’t seem all that pleased with this claim, believing that nobody has learned anything from building up young players too early, like Marcus Edwards in the past.

Some called for people to ‘chill’ over Scarlett, seemingly unhappy that he is being overrated at such a young age when the club should just let him develop rather than big him up at just 16.
