Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to comments from head coach Jose Mourinho on Gareth Bale.
Mourinho has suggested that Bale could feature for Tottenham against Marine away from home in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
The Portuguese made the comments about the Real Madrid-owned winger in the pre-match press conference.
Football.London quotes Mourinho as saying about Bale on Friday afternoon: “He trained today first time with us so tomorrow second time and tomorrow after training we will make a decision and what I can say and it’s also a way to show you the way we are looking, the respect we have for this fixture, is that Gareth told me he would like to go and would like to play so if tomorrow if the feelings are positive, Gareth will come.”
Some Tottenham fans have given their take on Mourinho’s comments and hope that Bale, who returned to the North London club on loan from Madrid in the summer of 2020, could play against Marine today.
Below are some of the best comments on Twitter:
Turning on the style
Bale has not been exactly great since he moved to Spurs on loan, although it must be noted that he has had injury and fitness concerns.
The Wales international is a very good player whose importance in the Tottenham team will only grow in the coming weeks and months.
If Bale gets the chance to start against Marine today, then he should make the most of it and turn on the style.
According to WhoScored, the 31-year-old has made one start and three substitute appearances in the Premier League and has played six Europa League games for Spurs so far this season.
