Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has previously stated that he wants a ‘new challenge’.
Tottenham Hotspur fans have had a mixed response to Mauricio Pochettino’s comments on Christian Eriksen’s future.
Eriksen stated earlier this summer that he could look for a ‘new challenge’ but he still has not left Tottenham.
Pochettino has now said to Football London that he hopes Eriksen sticks around at White Hart Lane.
“I hope, yes. He’s a great player, Christian, but I don’t know what is going to happen in the end,” the Argentinian said.
Tottenham fans have had a mixed response to the comments.
While there are some Spurs fans who are desperate to stay, others have become tired over what has become a bit of a saga.
If Tottenham can keep hold of Eriksen it will surely be a boost to the side, even though his form did tail off last term.
The Dane remains one of the finest playmakers in the Premier League, and his creativity is vital to Pochettino’s side.
With Tanguy Ndombele arriving at Spurs this summer already there is great excitement for the new campaign, and Eriksen sticking around would only add to the anticipation for next term at White Hart Lane.
