Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 4-2 by Barcelona at Wembley.

The 2017-18 season saw Kieran Trippier emerge from Kyle Walker’s shadow to establish himself as first-choice right-back for Tottenham Hotspur and England. But some of his displays since then left much to be desired.
Barcelona on Wednesday was one such instance – although Trippier was not the only Tottenham player to endure a difficult evening against the Liga heavyweights. With four goals shipped, however, the scapegoat spotlight was always likely to fall on a defensive player.
That said, it is Trippier’s perceived lack of defending which has irked several Tottenham supporters – some of whom are calling for Kyle Walker-Peters to replace the 28-year-old this weekend.
This is what they’re saying on Twitter…
Glenn ShelfSideYID @glenn_spurs: Replying to @properspurscob It’s at what point does MP say f*** this, i’m wrong… KWP, you’re in above Trippier. Has to be soon…
Philippe Coutinho fired Barca into a second-minute lead at Wembley, extended by Ivan Rakitic’s strike midway through the half.
Harry Kane reduced Spurs’ deficit shortly after half-time, although it was quickly doubled again by Lionel Messi, who added his second in stoppage time after Erik Lamela had struck for the hosts.
Tottenham fans – what do you make of Kieran Trippier’s recent from?
