Foyth was making his Champions League debut for Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur’s early progression to the Champions League’s last-16 allowed head coach Mauricio Pochettino to try out a number of fringe players in Wednesday’s final group game against APOEL Nicosia.
Michel Vorm, Juan Foyth, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Fernando Llorente were brought from the cold as Tottenham eased to a 3-0 win, courtesy of goals from two of those players – Llorente and N’Koudou – and another from Heung-min Son.

The chances of Llorente and N’Koudou starting Saturday’s game against Stoke, however, are probably slim.
But with Toby Alderweireld sidelined and Davinson Sanchez suspended, some Spurs fans believe Foyth could be in with a shout after his APOEL display.
Here’s what they’re saying about the Argentine…
Foyth, who moved to Tottenham from Estudiantes in August, was making his debut in the competition, having only made two EFL Cup appearances to date for Pochettino’s team.
Substitutes Kyle Walker-Peters and Kazaiah Sterling also made their respective Champions League and Spurs bows at Wembley.
