Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be in the market for a centre back this summer – and two defenders may be on the move.
Jan Vertonghen’s contract is up this summer, and it looks unlikely that he’ll stay put. Now, there are rumours about Juan Foyth’s future too.
It’s no great surprise to hear him being linked away. Foyth was a favourite of Mauricio Pochettino, but he has been frozen out by Jose Mourinho.
Foyth will surely move on this summer in order to play first-team football and keep his spot in the Argentina squad. However, few could have predicted a potential move to Barcelona.
Mundo Deportivo claim that Foyth has been offered to Barcelona, with Spurs actively trying to sell him. Barca will now consider a deal for the Argentinian as they seek a new centre back.
Mourinho allegedly wants a ‘different’ option at centre back, with Foyth seemingly just not his flavour. The 22-year-old is talented on the ball, but maybe isn’t the most solid defender.

Still, Spurs fans don’t seem too happy. Some believe that this is a ‘poor’ or ‘terrible’ decision if true that Foyth is being offered out.
Some would prefer a loan exit because he just needs confidence, and believe that he should be given more chances rather than flogged this summer.
