Tottenham and Angel Di Maria… probably not a likely move.
Tottenham Hotspur have been suggested as an unlikely destination for winger Angel di Maria.
Journalist Gregg Bakowski told The Guardian’s Football Weekly podcast that Di Maria would in his opinion be a shrewd addition for Spurs.
He said: “Two Argentinians, him and Pochettino. I think he’s the sort of player who would fit that system. Not particularly flashy, works hard when he can be bothered.
“It would seem a logical move. Maybe Pochettino would think he could motivate him.”

Di Maria has been at Paris Saint-Germain since 2015, having been sold by Manchester United after just one year at Old Trafford.
It is unclear whether the Argentine feels he has unfinished business in the Premier League or if he is simply glad to be out of English football.
Last season at PSG he scored six goals and provided seven assists.

He featured in PSG’s opening game of the season at the weekend although he faces a new test to fit in alongside world record signing Neymar.
The big obstacle for Spurs, a probably insurmountable one, is the financials involved.
Di Maria earns £162,000 per week at PSG and would have to take a substantial wage cut to join Spurs.
Fans are not convinced by the suggestion he would sign for the North London side…
