Manchester United have sacked manager Jose Mourinho today.

Manchester United have today announced that boss Jose Mourinho has been sacked following the club’s worst start to a Premier League season.
The Red Devils were beaten 3-1 by rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, and in truth, that scoreline could have been even more humiliating for United.
United currently sit 11 points off the top four, 18 behind Manchester City and 19 behind league leaders Liverpool, and Sunday’s defeat appears to have been the final straw for the United board.
Michael Carrick will be interim manager until an external temporary manager is appointed later this week, with a full-time appointment needed at the end of the season.
Zinedine Zidane is one of the favourites, but Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is another name in the running with bookmakers at this early stage.
The Argentinian has worked wonders at Tottenham for more than four years now, and his work developing young players and playing an attractive brand of football has made many believe he is perfect for the job.

Spurs fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the breaking news about Mourinho, bracing themselves for rumours about Pochettino – even if they’re already bored by them.
Others believe that the pressure is now on chairman Daniel Levy to keep Pochettino at Spurs, with some predicting major January spending in order to secure his future.
