SkySports report Kane will miss the clash at Old Trafford and has lost his battle to be fit.
Kane missed Tottenham’s midweek Carabao Cup loss to West Ham, and Spurs could now have to face one of their strongest competitors without him.
Both teams are level on points in second place, five points behind Manchester City.
Kane is the Premier League’s top scorer, but Tottenham will be bearing in mind the fact they face Real Madrid in the Champions League days later when deciding whether to risk him.
Tottenham did manage to beat Manchester City at White Hart Lane without Kane last season and will be determined to show they are not dependent on the England international.
Spurs fans though are hopeful the situation will turn around and Kane will recover in time to start.
